First day of school! WOOHOO!
Today, I have done well on my diet, I have not worked out as I intended, I wanted to get up early to do the Wii, but I was so beat when the first alarm went off, that I dismissed it! Didn't walk to the bus stop, I drove, since I had so much stuff to carry...And I still forgot my plant! :(
I had cereal for breakfast, and left over pasta for lunch. I am stuffed now! I did step for 10 minutes in my office, but since I kept getting interrupted, I gave up on it after 10 minutes! This afternoon, when my boss is in a meeting that she can't get out of, I will do some swivels, for lack of a better word... to work on my waist...
Anyhow, I did attempt the snow globe over the weekend... I don't have a picture of it, but I can tell you that the object that I glued into the lid, a plastic butterfly, is not very visible, since it is glued low... Maybe next time I will glue it to the bottom of the jar, and have that be the top? Also, I don't like the super glue I bought, it is to runny. I like the stuff we have at work better, is more "gelly"... Also, I put the glitter in the jar, and then I added the almost boiling water... Not the best idea... Let's see what else... Oh, the tutorial calls for glycerin, and I did not have any, it suggest that you can use mineral oil instead, but that the author had not done tried it herself... I did try it... It DOESN'T work. It clumps the glitter...
I did make a Clam Jar that I am happy with. I did use to much glitter, and maybe to much food coloring, but I really do love green, so...
Here is a photo of it.
I wanted to make these for Yule gifts, and I might still make a few, but I would have to use jars that I save from cooking, because that jar there cost $2.99. The glitter glue is on the expensive side as well. The bottle I got, could make 2 jars, and it was $5.00. The glitter that I added, was $2.50, and as I said I used to much, it could make 6 or 7 jars...the food coloring, we have a TON of that, so no worries there...
We'll see... Marie seemed to think it was neat, so maybe one for her and one for Cara...
We got all of the golf balls that we will need for another gift that is going to be made. My Grrrl will make that one! It will be super awesome, because she is!
That is all that I can think of for now. I want to make that foot soak for people as well, but I need to go shopping for that, and I have a growing shopping list for homemade gifts... I can, however, take off gold balls! Just took another look at it, and it is not that long after all! Maybe a few things at a time, but prep to make the items while I collect them...
I really want to make myself a skirt, that has nothing to do with Yule, just want it!
I am almost done with Robert's Dr. Who scarf, and Marie, I made her a scarf with the yarn that she loved so much. I need to make Cara a wearable pom - pom and I am done making things for the kids. The one to the adults. I hope everyone is OK with getting homemade gifts this year!
Blessed Be!
